Both FC Dallas players on loan to the NASL's Fort Lauderdale Strikers saw action this weekend as forward Bradlee Baladez started his first game for the club going 73 minutes while Richard Sanchez started in goal playing all 90 minutes for the third time in a row. While Baladez didn't find the scoresheet in the 2-1 Strikers victory at San Antonio Scorpions, the forward drew some positive reviews on Twitter while Sanchez earned his first win in goal for the NASL side that is currently 1-2-0 on the year.

FC Dallas In the end with the salary cap most teams in MLS are fairly similar with regards to talent. Coaching is an extremely key part of it as it is also in the NFL with the salary cap. We have the pieces so let's complete the puzzle.

Dan addresses many of the questions here, and answers the rest in this post

We're just a couple weeks away from the start of the NCAA season and the newly-formed American Athletic Conference has announced that their 2013 Men's Soccer Conference Championship will be played at Toyota Stadium on November 15 and 17.

Consisting of SMU, Cincinnati, Louisville, Memphis, Rutgers, Temple, Central Florida, UConn & South Florida, the American Athletic Conference boasts some NCAA soccer powerhouses and this tournament will be the first time Toyota Stadium has hosted a major NCAA post-season soccer event since the 2008 NCAA College Cup. The semifinals will be held on Friday, November 15 with the championship game held on Sunday, November 17.

"As an SMU alumnus, I'm especially excited to bring the American Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Championship to Toyota Stadium," said Hunt Sports Group Vice President Dan Hunt told the AAC website. "We have more than 4,500 players in our youth system, ages 7 and up, while more than 80 earned college soccer scholarships or Financial Aid this past year alone. Our Development Academy consistently ranks among the best in North America, while our professional team has spent the majority of the 2013 season at the top of the table in MLS. We are committed to growing soccer in North Texas and look forward to showcasing yet another level of elite play at our stadium."

As we prepare for some marquee international friendlies this afternoon, headlined by the United States trip to Sarajevo to face Bosnia-Herzegovina, Raul Fernandez and Peru faced South Korea in Suwon overnight playing the Asian side to a 0-0 draw.

According to reports from the match, FCD goalkeeper Raul Fernandez came up huge for the Peruvians making some big saves in the shutout. This report from El Comercio said Fernandez was Peru's man of the match and has video of an incredible save by Fernandez.

Raul is expected to fly directly to Portland to meet up with FCD in plenty of time for Saturday's match against the Timbers and as the evidence shows, he's in fine form.
